WHAT THE F IS THE IV DRIPS THAT EVERYONE'S GETTING?

THE IV DRIP TREND?

This is something I don't think gets talked about often, but today I was in the pharmacy after getting a blood test and overall I was feeling gaseous, bloated and sick in my stomach. In the pharmacy was a product called Biolyte: The IV in a bottle. It is suppose to be like getting an IV bag all in one bottle serving. I was curious and, to be honest, intrigued. I have heard of celebrities and influencers getting IV drips for energy. plump skin, detoxes and overall health improvement. And with my upset stomach and my general lack of sleep, I thought "why not".

What is an IV Drip?

Well before I dip into my review of such things, I wanted to give a little background on IV and why it is becoming popular in alternative medicine for everyday folks. IV drips, or sometimes called banana bags, are not a new thing. First created in the the late 80's by John Myers which can be referenced for by the "Myer's Cocktail". Now of course IV's are used in the hospital for people who have really need vitamins and minerals, blood transfusions etc etc.  Robert H. Shmerling MD writing for the Harvard Health Publishing says that there really isn't need for them, that most of the time you will be getting this from daily vitamins you take, water intake and adequate sleep. In my opinion, you don't really need them either, especially for jet lag or a hangover. Sleep and water will do anybody just fine.

This really just seems like something rich people do. They can get IV drips and it makes them feel like they have some special cure for all their "hard work". Now in my review of Biolyte, it really didn't change much in me though it was a nice feeling after having an upset stomach. I feel as if it's not something that you drink everyday. Maybe every week or maybe once a month as a boost.

Some takeaways?

Well I just wanted to talk about IV drips really. I see big celebs that are influential to everyday peoples such as Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid, Kylie Jenner, Rhianna, Gwyneth Paltrow, (she can be a little questionable for the general public) Adele. I do think the general public is like what the fuck would you do that for. I have seen such posts on Reddit or Instagram of people being like rich people are just doing weird pseudoscience (which I believe it is). Though I just thought this was interesting thing that I wanted to post about, leave a comment or something about what you think of celebrity health tips and tricks. Do you think some of them are valid? Do you think some of them are used just to show off how much better they are doing? Or do you think they are just that gullible? I don't know. I don't care. Just thought about it today.

Another day,
